BeReal: the fashion social network that triumphs with its private and spontaneous format:

If there is an application that has been downloaded a lot from Google Play and the App Store in recent weeks, it is BeReal. It’s a new social network that is catching on among all users who use networks to show what they do and don’t mind sharing it, whatever it is. Even the name reveals what it wants: to be real. Today we tell you why it is so successful and how it works. It’s something similar to Snapchat, but with a spontaneous, unique and very special touch.

BeReal: a single photo a day and surprise.

The goal of BeReal is to show your friends the reality of your day at a given moment. To achieve this, the social network offers a very interesting incentive: you can post just one photo a day, either with your mobile camera or as a surprise. But how? This may seem a bit “boring”, but it is a lot of fun if you have several friends who use it.

When you download the application, you can add friends from your contact list or from links you have seen on other social networks. When you add a friend, they can see your BeReal and you can see theirs. The fun thing about the app is that you can’t post too much or whenever you want: there’s a limit of one post every 24 hours and you have to upload it when the app decides.

It’s time to make your BeReal! Smile and prepare the two cameras

Once the app is installed, you will receive a random notification once a day to post your BeReal. It’s never the same time and all your friends in the same time zone will receive the notification at the same time. Important. You have two minutes to post the BeReal.

Thanks to this tactic, the app makes sure you’re real and you’re not getting dressed up or just posting when you’re out to dinner or out with friends. No matter what you’re doing, you have to grab your phone and snap a photo at that moment. And watch out, the photo is taken with the front and back camera to be even more realistic.

If you’re not wearing anything, you’ll get a late BeReal.
It’s OK if you get caught driving or sleeping: you can post a late BeReal. However, when you click on the camera icon, you only have 2 minutes to take the photo and upload it.

Your friends will then receive a notification similar to this: “So-and-so has posted a late BeReal”. If you post the BeReal at the time the app asks for it, no notification will appear as it is assumed that your other friends are also in the app and will post your BeReal and see the rest.

If you don’t post anything, you don’t see anything either.
The best thing about the app is that it forces you to post content if you want to see the rest. If you have 100 friends uploading content, you can’t see that content until you upload a BeReal. And if more than 24 hours pass, the content is deleted.

So it’s no longer a social network that’s just for “watching”, because you have to interact if you want to see what your friends post.

BeReal private or public
The app focuses on private and friend-to-friend content, but it doesn’t only allow that mode. There’s a tab called “Discovery” where you can see BeReal from random people from anywhere in the world. You can even mark your account as “public” so that the rest of the app users can see your content.

It is a very interesting proposal that is becoming more and more popular and has more and more users. It is a social network that tries to fight against prepackaged content, performance and perfection in networks. What do you think? Will you give it a try?
