Following the success of 2019’s Modern Warfare, Activision and Infinity Ward are set to release the next game in their rebooted Modern Warfare trilogy, much like the successful MW2 released in 2009, called Modern Warfare II.

For months, fans have been speculating about the game, especially with rumors that it will bring Battlefield 2, with discussions surrounding its gameplay and how it will resemble the classic CoD games.

They’ve released a live trailer for the new title, revealing that the stream will take place on Wednesday, June 8.

Huge changes for MW2 multiplayer

Modern Warfare 2′
s multiplayer will have big changes to usher in a new era of Call of Duty. Here are some of the major new features revealed on June 8

Modern Warfare 2’s armory completely revamped
The Armory was a huge hit when it first appeared in Modern Warfare (2019) and will be revamped in Modern Warfare 2.

The weapons platform allows users to unlock new weapons in what is known as a “family tree.” For example, you can level up an SMG and start unlocking other weapons that live within that platform.

As you level up your game and weapons, you’ll build an arsenal of weapons that will allow you to blur the lines between SMGs and assault rifles, for example.

Five new MW2 maps confirmed
Five new Modern Warfare 2 maps have been confirmed, including a track inspired by the Formula 1 Grand Prix.

These new maps are

Saïd
Sarif Bay
Museum
Grand Prix
Farm 18 Training Facility
Movement and vehicle changes
MW2 and Warzone 2 will have some changes in terms of mobility, maneuverability and vehicles. An improved water system allows players to swim around the map and you will also be able to hang on to ledges.

As for vehicles, amphibious vehicles will arrive to take advantage of all the new water, while troop transport helicopters will make it easier for your squad to get where they need to go. Not only that, but you’ll also be able to lean over and shoot enemies from vehicles.

Battlefield 2 confirmed for 2022

Battlefield launched in March 2020 and was an immediate global hit, with top players from all other games coming to Verdansk to fight in Call of Duty battles.

Speculation surrounding Battlefield 2 has been going on for months, but it has now been confirmed that the “new Battlefield 2.0 experience” will launch this year in 2022. This follows numerous rumors that the game could be closed until 2023.

They will also bring “deadly” AI bots to Modern Warfare 2 and provide updates for RICOCHET anti-hacking, which will be in play in both games from day one.

Modern Warfare 2 Campaign

The new Call of Duty brings a brand new campaign, a sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare after three years. Infinity Ward even provided plenty of details about the upcoming campaign and its initial missions, in which TF141 will operate around the world.

One of the missions even looks like a spiritual sequel to All Ghillied Up from CoD 4: Modern Warfare.
Long before the release of Call of Duty Vanguard, we already knew what 2022 would bring. The leak dates back to September 2021, where a direct sequel to Modern Warfare 2019 was hinted at.

Theoretically, we’ll be joining the U.S. Special Forces in a new Modern Warfare 2. As VGC explains, it is a “secret war against Colombian drug cartels”.

Again, it seems the campaign is set to “feel” like “Dead Redemption 2”. That is, we’ll have brutal realism in the blood and unique death animations. Meanwhile, VGC added that the AI (artificial intelligence) will be more “complex” and they will be more resilient.

“If you shoot them in the arm or leg, they will lose limbs. If you shoot them in the chest, they may not die immediately,” Henderson explained about dismemberment.

Meanwhile, in terms of multiplayer, we already know some maps. Apparently, five classic maps from the original game are being developed. In 2022, we will once again enjoy Favela, Terminal, Highrise, Shipment and Qua

Three standard classes for Modern Warfare 2
Dexerto’s half-brother CharlieIntel had the opportunity to attend an early access event to speak with design directors Joe Cecot and Geoff Smith. The two shared how they have studied player behavior to create the “best” multiplayer experience.

To do this, standard classes are built around three different behaviors set for multiplayer players and CoD veterans.

Rush (run and gun). This type of player just wants to be aggressive and constantly move around the battlefield of the multiplayer map.
Sentinel (camping). They tend to stay in one area of the map and wait for enemies to appear in front of them. They also place themselves in places where they know there will be opponents.
Stalker. This class is designed for users who are more focused on following the opponent’s movements and reaching the target rather than completing everything.
